「(be) tuckered out」是什麼意思?

其實這個片語還蠻常用的,不過一般人可能比較陌生

(因為不是課本會教的……)

tucker 這個字本身是動詞「使…疲倦」的意思

所以 be tuckered out 就是「累壞了」

也有很多別的說法,比如 be tired outbe exhaustedbe beat

當然它也可以用主動的 tucker someone out 「使…(人)累壞了」

我們來造些句:

After running five miles, he was (all) tuckered out.
(在跑了五英哩後,他累壞了。)

Cleaning the big house really tuckered her out.
(清理那棟大房子真的把她累壞了。)

We are (all) tuckered out after sitting in a car for eight hours.
(在坐了八小時的車後,我們全都累壞了。)
