好用句:You nailed it!

“You nailed it!” 這句話是用來稱讚對方把某件事做得很完美、很「到位」

nail [nel] 這個字在此是動詞「用釘子釘住」的意思

不過它也可以當名詞「釘子」或「指甲」

現在有很多競賽型的節目,像是比賽廚藝、唱歌、當模特兒等

當裡面的參賽者表現很好,比如把一道菜做得很成功或一首歌唱得很好時

常常就會聽到評審說:You nailed it!

(注意要用過去式,因為此事已經做了

而且在講的時候應該把 nailed it 連音唸作 [ nel dɪt ] )


不過在美國影集中也常聽到警察或探員會說:We nailed him.

這時 nail 的意思就是指逮到此人了

也可以說:We got him.
