很多(在台灣的)人如果看到一個老外剪短了頭髮
都會說: Did you cut your hair?
(因為從中文的 ”你剪頭髮了嗎?” 直譯過來的)
殊不知這麼說是錯的哦~
話說很多年前, 我有個外國朋友一出現時, 頭髮明顯變短了
於是我問他: Did you get a haircut?
他居然笑開來了, 很興奮說: You’re the only person who said it right today!
(你是今天唯一說對這句話的人!)
Most people said, “Did you cut your hair?”
And I said, “No, I paid someone else to do it. But I don’t think they got it.”
(大部份的人都說: Did you cut your hair?
我就回答: 不是, 我付錢請別人幫我剪的. 不過他們大概不懂我的意思吧.”
不知各位看到這裡, 可以領略出兩個問句的差異了嗎?
其實 Did you cut your hair? 是問 ”你自己剪了自己的頭髮嗎?”
現在的人多半是找專業美髮師剪的
所以應該要說: Did you get a haircut? 才對
動詞可以用 get 或 have, 搭配以下的:
剪髮 a haircut
洗髮 a wash
燙髮 a perm
修短一點 a trim
染髮 a dye
挑染 highlights
護髮 a hair care session
”我這周末要去燙髮” I’m going to get a perm this weekend.
走進國外的美髮沙龍, 就告訴他們:
I would like a wash and a cut. (我要洗和剪)
I’d like some brown highlights. (我要弄棕色挑染)
I’d like to book a hair care session. (我要預約護髮)
在給美髮師指示時, 以上的 perm, trim, cut, dye 等字也可當動詞, 比如:
Trim off the back a little. / Trim a little off the back. (把後面修短一點)
Cut five centimeters off the back. (後面剪短五公分)
Trim the bangs. (把瀏海修短)
I’d like tight curls all over. (全部燙小捲)
(中捲: medium curls, 大捲: loose curls)
男生有可能會用到:
Shave the sideburns. (把鬢角剃掉)
Spike the front (towards the forehead / backwards).
(讓前面的頭髮(往額頭方向/往後)豎起來) (spike 中間母音同 like)
如果想要打薄, 則要用被動語態:
I’d like my hair thinned.
剪層次: I’d like my hair layered.
另外, “做頭髮” 的說法是 have one’s hair done
如: She had her hair done for the wedding.
”整理頭髮” 或 ”弄頭髮” 則是 fix one’s hair
如: She spends a lot of time fixing her hair in the morning.
”髮型” 則可說 hairstyle 或 hairdo
如: That’s a funny hairstyle. / That’s a funny hairdo.
要問人家的頭髮是誰幫他弄的, 則是:
Who did your hair?
呼呼......沒想到頭髮的東西有那麼多可講
