luck out是什麼意思？

雖然out有時候有「用完」的意思

不過可不要誤以為luck out這個片語是「好運用盡」的意思

事實上它的意思正好相反，是指「非常走運；運氣很好」

(突然想到台語中的「出運」……好像有異曲同工之妙？)

例如：

He lucked out and ended up winning more than five hundred dollars in the card game.
(他手氣大好，最後打牌贏了五百多塊。)

Just because you lucked out last time, doesn’t mean it will happen again.
(上次你走運不代表你會再度那麼幸運。)
(註：此句型雖然乍看之下不合文法，卻是口語上常用的句型)

I really lucked out this morning when I got the last seat on the bus.
(今天早上我運氣好，搶到公車上最後一個位子。)
