tall order是什麼意思？

Tall order?「高的訂單」？這又是什麼意思？

tall 在這裡是古早的「很大的；可觀的」意思

order 在此是「命令；指示」

所以基本上一個 tall order 就是「很難達成的命令/指示」

現在都是指一件不容易做到的事

也可以用 a tall order to fill

我們來造些句：

The manager wants us to finish this by midnight. That’s a tall order (to fill.)
